Privacy and safeguarding

Junior profiles are managed by a parent or guardian.

Adult players manage their own profile. For anyone under 18, their parent or guardian controls the profile and club contact.

Junior player profiles

How the account works.

These boundaries apply across search, player matching, invitations and contact handoff.

Guardian accounts

A parent or guardian manages the profile.

An adult guardian creates profiles, controls visibility and makes every sharing decision.

Club search

Junior profiles are not public.

Club recruiters see only pseudonymous football details after club approval, role checks and MFA.

Club contact

The guardian decides what happens next.

A guardian chooses the email or phone number to use when they and the club agree to continue.

The contact boundary

What a club can—and cannot—see.

Before acceptance

  • Nickname or initials
  • Seasonal age group
  • Football traits and positions
  • Broad availability
  • Distance band

Never shown in player search

  • Surname or exact date of birth
  • Postcode, coordinates or school
  • Current club or medical notes
  • Guardian contact details
  • Direct child messaging

Report the concern, not the rumour

Use the right route.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services. Grassroots Connect can restrict platform access, but it does not replace a club, governing body, police or statutory safeguarding process.

Concern about platform activity?

Signed-in adults can use the report and block controls attached to the relevant request, profile or club.
